hi all,
its about time that i started a thred about my MICAMIN
(all the credit to this build will go to BIGCHIEF it been an inspiration its his fault)
any way hear goes.
Posted Image
ive had this mk2 cooper for about 15 years and used and abused it doing 12 car rallys
so its had a hard life, after the last engine build which cost me lottttts then i had a
problem with oil feed which fu**ed the engine up in a big way i said never again
to spend so much on an A series engine.
it was 1340, 98bhp stage 4 11stud head,rimflow valves,full roller rockers,split webbers,
643 rallycam,adjustable timing,centre main strap,cross drilled/nitrided,staight cut drops,
3syn straight cut box,crosspin diff.it sounded fu**ing fantastic.
history lesson over.
NOW
after reading bigchiefs build i was bitten by the micramin bug THANKS
then started to look for a doner
Posted Image
and this was it hit by a bus, but engine has only done 9000 miles £180 not bad bargain,
and then it started oh dear

with the making of subframe and trying to put engine in this was the hardest part
due to me having a latter engine and a bigger gearbox which ment i had to re make my
plan of copying bigchiefs subframe (you got it so easy bigchief lol)
but onwords and up words

how will you be mounting the clutch master cylinder if you dont mind me asking? as i see you had to cut out the section where the original type master cylinder would be?

Must admit Bigchiefs thread inspired me and this one looks cool, can't see why more people havn't done this conversion.

The only thing that has put me off is the new IVA/SVA minis seem to be getting hit quite hard soon, are you going to be putting this on the road? if so are you worried about this new ruling **it

There's something I really want to know about this conversion. How heavy is the clutch? I'm looking to make my mini my comfortable, even luxurious so if I'm going to all the trouble of a conversion I'd like a lighter clutch pedal.

edit: spelling

I can tell you that the clutch on a standard Micra is super light, so I imagine it will be very similar on a mini set-up
