do you not have a separate colour for the undercoat?
and what parts are you painted black?
i think you said you were roller painting it, is it easy?
how long do you have to wait before you can wet and dry and then recoat?
how many coats do you need?

(that was a lot of questions, sorry bout that)

considering its the first coat it looks really good, nice and shiny!!

1. no you dont need an under coat although i surpose if u started with 1 solid colour underneath it would look better erlier on, if that makes sence
2. im painting the roof black and mabye cooper style bonnet stripes if i cant find them for a mk1 bonnet
3. the rolling is pretty easy but i imagine the sanding is going to be hard work. the reason im doing it this way is cost. iv not spent over £100!! including prep.
4. depending on the wether about 2-3 days i think but you can wet and dry between every 2 coats if you do a good enough coat (mine was too think so i will have to flat after this coat)
5. iv seen people do between 6-10 coats so il just see how it goes

:dozing:

Dont be offended by this comment, but i think its the perfect recipe for a rat look Mini  Looks really cool, especially considering the budget that you're limiting yourself too.

Well done, and the paint looks pretty cool.

yeh its geting quite close now, the bonnet has 3 coats on it now i recon 2 more coats an it'll be a solif colour. it would be less if u were putting a darker colour over a light colour but im doing the opposite. the roof has pretty much full coverage so will probs only need 1 more coat :)

cheers
