Cut the arch trims back to just before the bend in the arch and leave it at that. It will look miles better. Nice result overall with the rebuild. great work.

new sticker :D

this is the most appropriate sticker i have seen on any mini yet:D good job,

and by the way, when you were spraying the primer to the repairs, you didn't have to mask it up into neat little squares, because you would have to smooth it out so the paint to get a nice Finish, you just needed to maybe mask up the surrounding panels and bright work,
this would have seemed less relevant here because you roller painted yours (many congratulations on the Finish, by the way:D) and the paint was applied thicker, but if it was a pro job you would have seen the squares a mile off;)

Its been ages since i have updated this so i thought i would let you all know what i have been up to :)
im planning on building a 998 turbo engine with a spec that will hopefully look something like this:
-A+ block, crank and rods (purchased)
-Flat top pistons (purchased)
-Garrett T2 turbo from a renault 5 turbo (purchased)
-Mirage stainless manifold (no bulkhead cutting) (purchased)
-Hif44 (already had just needs a rebuild)
-Metro turbo plenum (purchased)
-S2 cosworth intercooler
-Megajolt
-MPI tank
-Metro turbo fuel regulator
-Standard gearbox (already have) with central pickup and x-pin diff

Probably missed lots off but it gives you an idea. I have never rebuilt an engine on my own before so iv jumped in at the deep end a bit but it should be a good learning exercise. My car is off the road at the moment as im just waiting for some welding to be done on it before i can mot it but it shouldnt be too long before i have it back :) i have missed it lol.
Here are some pictures of the engine stuff

Cheers ash, yeh its come out much better than i thought.

Engine wise, iv not really done much, iv bought a hif44 because i found out the carb that i did have was a hif38. iv fully stripped down my spare engine and you should see the no1 piston that came out. the rings were in pieces and the the slots that the rings sit in were all messed up!

Well its really simple once everything is out, they just go straight with the only cutting needed on things like the seatbelt plug holes and seat rails. You might need some adhesive on some parts like the footwell bits :)

In other news i managed to get hold of three 12g295's off ebay for £250!
