Nut Size On Door Hinge

Hey guys

Ive got a 1995 cooper spi that ive been restoring and i have the doors in place, but the nuts that go on door hinge thread.... which you reach under each arch the nut heads have worn out big time so i want to replace all 8

anyone know what size these nuts are.... i am sure they are unf but not sure on size?

i am going to try order some nuts if i can online once i know the size, anyone know

and also anyone know where i can get them online?

If they are UNF they will be 7/16 but if they are worn out that badly use an impact socket. 10 or 11 mm should work depending on how bad they are. Be sure to soak them with wd40 first!

cheers feller.....would you recommend nylon lock nut or just normal thread 7/16 unf

I use Nyloc nuts and a good coating of copper grease once fitted.

not 716 thats massive, i think you mean 7 16 head, the thread size is 1/4" unf. Personally i dont like nylocks, id use some fairly big washers, to spread the load, and some spring washers.
