Totally without warning Mrs Teapot has decided to have a midlife 50th birthday celebration instead of a crisis and has bought a '98 Cooper Sportpack with 34k miles on the clock :) and one lady owner for 4 grand. It's taxed and Mot'd for 11 months.

As you can see she haggled a bit, thanks largely to some research on the car's MoT history and also to the keen eye of mini guru Dave Perky from our East Devon Club (free dinner owed there).

It's her first mini and she has named him Rocky. We're getting the service and MoT history documents together right now. More anon. The fun starts here! =]

Yes, but not to worry about yet.
This car started life in a Rover showroom. In its first 2 years it did 109 miles!

Her plans so far are red seatbelts, red high-heel ankle boots, tight leopardskin trousers, a bubble cut and Fifties pink sunglasses. And the ace of hearts on the roof.
My plans are to hide =]

Happy Birthday!

This is how it went:
On Tuesday she was looking glumly for a smaller car to replace her Pug 207, whose lease is running out. A Micra was in the offing.
On Wednesday night she saw Rocky sitting on a small used-car lot.
On Thursday she test drove him and despite the heavy steering "fell in love." This mystery we all understand, yes? =]
Yesterday she secured first refusal and went through a long list of questions about his history, and also talked to the MoT garage up the road, where they obligingly called up all the advisories and fails (2) in the last 7 years.
Today she got a second opinion from our mini club expert, who checked the body (magnet to the fore) and also drove it. Then she clinched the deal and paid the deposit.
