Does anyone know how to get petrol stains off paint work?
I have a stain on the paintwork just under the petrol cap due to carelessness, and cant seem to get it off :/ any ideas on how to get it off without having to buy the specific coloured touch up paint?

Unfortunately it will have probably damaged the paint if its been left on the paint. The only way you may be able to remove the stain and get the finish back without repainting is by flatting the paint down with fine sandpaper (i.e. 2000 grade or finer) then polishing the paint back to a shine.

I had this on my mini when I first bought it. As said above. I just used alot of Tcut on it and after about 30 of rubbing most of it came off.

t cut and if its really bad use brasso. my grandad was a paint sprayer for years and they used to use brasso to take off overspray ect,

its quite harsh tho, it wont scratch or anything, infact itll leave the paint really sinty and smooth but be gentle with it.

make sure you use some good quality wax onve you have the stain off

T Cut worked for me, however it was a bit tricky with the seam there and if you look closely enough you can still see it alongside, but it needs a respray anyways so not too bothered.

you need a good quality polish. not a wax. a wax puts a layer over the paint, a polish takes a small amount off of the paint,

i would suggest t-cut, and if that doest do the job, brasso should do.

Honest i thought it sounded odd, but it works
