the thing that calver was saying about was the 4 core rads that many people think are the best, which isn't the case. because your essentially doubling the thickness of the rad, and people don't change the fan for something more substantial. so the cooling capacity is cut down by 50% because there isn't anymore fan power than standard to push the air out so it struggles to cool efficiently.

and why would a smaller volume of water be more effective at cooling exactly? unless the original design of the cores were change...however if they were exactly the same of course a 4 core would be more efficient at cooling, its thermodynamics...and logic, if the cores are smaller theres more water in contact with the sides allowing passing air by and take the heat energy. doesnt neccesarily have to have a larger volume of water just core dimensions to change.
iv never had problems with my 4 core, the only time iv seen my gauge actualy reach over mid way on my TIM gauge was around coombe after i finished trying to kill it at mini world action day

for a standard engine, i would assume alot of people in this thread have a fairly low spec engine absolutly no need for an alloy rad' there is such thing as over cooling you know, i was told in uni apparently as standard a mini is one of the most thermaly efficient, though im not sure thats quite true lol

I might get one of these, I have alot of problems with cooling in the summer.

Gino, do you have any cooling problems? I realise your car has the Aux radiatiator aswell though.

Hi mate Na no probs at all, I dont think I realy need my Aux rad I might remove this to get some space back lol
and then I can see of any change
I do have a extra fan on inner wing but I never flick it on

Personally i would rather buy from a UK manufacturer, i would rather support british manufacturing

What happens when you want parts made from radtec, force pace, forge? what happens when you need to buy parts from our great british suppliers when they have gone out of buisiness because you bought cheap chinese $*** in order to save a couple of quid

None of you have any idea how good these rad are how efficiant the cores are? how many of these rads have been manufactured to the high standards we have in this country?

Bought just because its shiney :P

Realy?

I'd rather have £200 in my pocket. Fair enough if it was a matter of a couple of quid, not a couple of hundred.

yes really, i would rather support a british manufacturer and pay the extra £200 (in this case) however i expect half the people who have bought them did not need an aluminium rad and i very much doubt they give any better cooling over a standard item as at that price they will have a **** core so in my opinion you have wasted £60 not gained anything

See you will spend your money on this **** then you will moan later that the only part you can buy dont fit and/or wear out quicker because there will be no decent manufactures of parts working to any sort of standards

Nothings made in britian anymore!!!!! Im all for saving £200. If they last half as long as the expencive ones its still a bargain.

Right lets get this straight, the rads from china are far superior in cooling than the standard rads. I know, i have one fitted. It was that good that i ordered a second one for a project, and my mates have ordered them for their mini's.

I would definately prefer £200 in my pocket, well thats if i could afford to have £200 spare to put in there!

2 core rads are superior to 4 core rads, although they can suffer from clogging due to the large fin spacing if alot of off-roading is done. Then again i suppose the lack of airflow through a 4 core rad would still make it inferior. Calver even states the 2 core as being the more efficient rad in his topic on the minispares website.

As for overcooling, my temp gauge sits just below halfway, probably due to the fact i have the right thermostat in my engine.

I know some people have commented on the welds which doesnt bother some but does others. Ive got this one saved on ebay which doesnt seem to show when you look on ebay. It works out to be £105 delivered. I know ive read countless times that aluminium radiators are superior to other radiators and do seem to sort cooling issues especially on more modified engines. It what I plan to get anyway. Still a nice saving of over £100.

I bought one and about a week later got an email back saying they'd sold out and wouldn't be making more in about a month. Got my money back, but looks like they're back in stock, so might get one ordered at last...
