They DO NOT negate the twitchiness, which is due to the fundamental instability caused by completely wrong scrub radius, They only partially mask its effect, in some driving conditions. The potentially serious safety problem remains.

the metro hubs don't change the scrub radius that much, and most of that can be clawed back by using mini drive flanges.
much more of an issue is wheels with to little offset.

My brother in law has metro hubs on his mini Marcos. He had bump steer to the point where you could very easily see the wheels moving toe in/out as you jacked the front of the car up. Would've said it was well over 20 degrees each way.
We started by changing the steering arms for many different ones that he had kicking about, and when we found the one that gave least bump steer, we worked on making one from a piece of flat bar that we could heat up and bend in any direction we wanted until we pretty much got rid of the bump steer completely.
When we were happy with it's shape we made a jig and made two new ones from similar pieces of flat bar, welded up solid and they have been on his car ever since.
His bump steer was so bad that when over taking on a road with camber, he couldn't get the car back over to the left side of the road. As soon as it did bounce over that way, it would nearly throw him off the other way.
