I have now infact cleared the inside of the clubby and completly gutted it, took me a while as the previous owner decided to cover up the original interior in awful charcoal grey carpet (this includes all door cards, and trim) and a tacky leather effect seat cover that is meant for newer cars and honestly must of been an argos special lol, a variety of 3 different carpets, none of which were original and along with various parts that honestly made the whole project seem worse than it actually is, but now the mini has been stripped back down to the basics to see everything, its actually a very solid car seeming as it is 31 years old. However it still requires some more work to truly strip her down but that will come later on...
I shall take some pictures at the weekend and keep you lot updated

Pictures will arrive this weekend :) I am completly gutting her out and ditching the crap, and trying to sort out the wiring, unfortunatly an untrained monkey wired in spotlights and an alarm system but choped into most the cables and its been a pain tracing what connects to where lol

And i havent found out yet, whats the easiest way of finding out? preferably looking on the block etc, because i know its had an engine change as its in the history of the vehicle, just doesnt state what the spec of the engine was :)

Look at the engine number, post it on here and some one will be able to tell you what it is.

Where abouts is the engine number? if its the metal plate fixed on the right hand side on the block if you look directly at the engine it has been cut of, is there any definitive way of finding out? And codes stamped onto the engine block or certain parts that only added onto 1275 engines etc etc like the coopers had an extra stud that kinda thing if that makes sense?

Sorry for the delay guys, just got the latest pictures of work in progress, i just had the new clutch slave cylinder arrive today so that will be fitted soon, and i took the heater apart to find the matrix corroded, along with the entire heater casing looking rather shoddy, soo i think a new heater is in order as i do believe this is where the water damage has occured from, anyway il get pictures of that later >_<
Latest plans as you will see from the pictures is remove driver floor pan, inner and outer sills and replace with new.

Nice, So what engine size is it? 998 or 1098. Could be modified because theres no engine number..I had an old 78 1275GT that had no engine number, turned out to be a 1275cc overbored to 1330cc which is now been bored to 1380!

:D

Yeh we are guessing its 1275 because the engine plate which you can't see in the pictures well has been like cut of because u can see each end of it lol and my dad whos had loads mini's said it pulls very well and a lot more than my old mini which was 998

Have you got a picture of the other end of the engine, The coil side... Where the top engine steady is how many core plugs are there? 1 or 2

If 1 its most probably a 1098 if your dad thinks it pulls better than your old 998 engine..

well from what i can see, it has one under the engine steady on the left of the engine (if you look at it front onwards)
then on the front it has two starting from the left hand side??? and a third i believe is behind the alternator??
