I love the 1100 special, it is one of the better special editions...

Standard 1098cc engine (never made it to round nose Minis, except the 1100 special), Centre console with radio(!), cigar lighter, vinyl roof... A truly commemorative Mini to celebrate its 20th anniversary...

from what I rember the cherry pink were less prone to rusting as I've seen moore rusty met greys ...........

My second car I bought in 85 was a mini 1.1 special it was silver with a bit of rust in the normal places - it was on Y plate because it was imported from Belgium the trim level was different to the specials taht I have seen at shows as it had black velour seats and trim and a km speedo. I was gutted when it was written off after ownong it for a couple of years - it was a cracking car!

Someone I knew at my old Mini Club once owned an imported Belgian built Mini Special in black. The trim level was very much like a Mini Clubman, but with the triple clock instruments (which included the tachometer).

Although it had a round front end and a 1098cc engine.

No, its going on ebay this week, so I fancy my chances of getting it cheaper than £600 Who knows?

Edit: Its on ebay now, up to £431 and 2 days to go. Oh well, looks like i Missed this one.
