A small flat blade screwdriver will get the old seal out. I generally use two oil seals, I tried one of those kits and I could not get 2nd or 4th gears(dont know if anyone else has ha this problem).

Some later minis (1990 on) already have one of these anti leak type kits so adding the minispares kit in addition might cause problems with gear selection.

If you do have an anti leak O-ring fitted already it would be best not to leave it in and not use the new one, just use the new seal.

iv not had a problem with mine, and its doing the job lovely. I put mine in with the diff case off though, but looking at it I would say leaverage and swearing at it should get it out! Good luck

They can be a right royal pain putting them in with box in car, the main thing is to make sure the 'o' ring round the ali support does not crimp. then just tap it in , and then the new seal afterwards...

As summergnu says, I believe it may have become a standard fit on the later 90's boxes, as I seem to be pulling them out quite regular like
