anyone know if these will be road legal with regards to noise levels?

you realise a car has to be VERY loud to be over the noise levels. as a general rule with this i completely ignore it.

Mig exhausts are a strange beast, they are used as the rules limit the maximum diameter of the exhaust, but not the number. Hence the twin system was developed. As is usual in these things, one peson does it and everyone else follows.

So if you were designing an exhaust from scratch with no regs to comply with, would it look like a mig exhaust? No.

Look at hillclimb cars to see what people run where there is no exhaust rules.

However, the Mig exhaust does look cool, if a little heavy.

I imagine that even if he did, it's probably been changed since this thread was created way-back-when.

You could make your own. Get a pair of 850 exhausts and silencers, then with a MIG welder you can make a twin pipe system. It's only a bit of welding.

For a road car with a 1275 engine the pipe diameters need to be between about 35 mm internal diameter, so a 40 mm OD pipe would work well.
