I've seen a few sites with paint codes, but can anyone decode trim codes? Mine is PMA with a paint code of RCR. Any help would be appreciated.

It'd help if you posted what model/year Mini you own.

But 'PMA' is a paint code isn't it?

My car is a 1996 Cooper spi. On the VIN plate it states my paint code is RCR. It also states trim code as PMA

So what colour is your Mini? (hard to tell from your avatar picture and my 42 year old cataract infected eyes).

So it is black then?

Could they have been having an off day at Longbridge and stamped the codes in the wrong places? Although according to my link 'PMA' black was used between 1969 - 1989 and I believe Rover had stopped selling black painted Minis and switched to Charcoal Grey instead by the mid 1990's?

I've got the Mini Cooper Buyer's Guide by John Parnell, but as it was published in 1992 it only just touches on the SPi Mini Coopers (although I've heard he's about to publish an updated version?).

Apart from that I've got this MCR buyers guide, which again only just touches on the SPi Minis since it too was first published around 1992: -

Hopefully someone with a similar model will know more?

My car is British Racing Green (HAM) with a Diamond White (NAL) roof. Together this give a PAINT code of RCR. It is my TRIM code I need decoding. Anyother thoughts?

PMA is the factory colour code for a black trimmed car. A coloured trim item (dash rail, plastic moulding, carpet, seat belt etc) part number will end in a three letter code, PMA if it is black (on post 1980's parts). These codes relate to trim only and not body paint.

Hope this helps
