I'm sorry but I'm not Bini Bashing, but how does that resemble a countryman?!!! Same principle with this so called 'clubman' of theirs! Ok, fair enough you've bought the mini name, and you want to use it, fine, but at least lable your cars up properly?!!

I am the only one that feels this way? :dozing:

no

Thank god for that! :dozing:

Looks like a jacked up Bini Clubman. But to avoid resentment for the New Mini and its variants, i will now refer to them all as BMWs.

I'm like Binis, or should I say, the old shape Binis.. but why do they have to keep getting bigger and UGLIER!!?? To me that looks terrible, much like the Moke concept, and in fact most other current BMW models.

Take a look on autoexpress website, there you can see the next concept mini. To be called the mini spirit this will be smaller than the current mini hatches and will be a hybrib car. The engine will be in the back to give more room inside and will use ultra light weight materials. it will also be zero emmisions which would mean no road tax. BMW now want mini to return to its roots of a modern small car after going bigger with the countryman/crossman model.
Due to hit the roads in 2011 it will have four doors. it will be in the city car bracket.

MINI Countryman Video:
l0tCuaqqfuw

From Autocar:
Mini’s rapid expansion is expected to be curtailed after its new Countryman, Coupe and Roadster models hit UK showrooms later this year.

These three cars will bring Mini’s current range up to six different models, and Mini UK’s general manager Jochen Goller has said that although the firm is constantly evaluating new concepts, it has no immediate plans to expand the range further. “We’re permanently looking at new concepts,” Goller told Autocar.

Mini revealed the Countryman hatchback yesterday, and Goller believes the car is in keeping with the ideals of the Mini brand.
“When you drive it, hopefully you’ll see its fun to drive with traditional Mini handling,” he said “The iconic shape is still there, too. We want to build on Mini’s success and this sits within the brand. I’m happy with it.”

Goller feels the Countryman will help Mini retain some of its customers who leave the brand looking for cars with more space.
“Mini buyers are very loyal – they love the brand, but have to leave it at some point as they need more space, so this counters that,” he said. “Also, the small SUV sector is rapidly expanding and we’re tapping into that.”

A top-of-the-range JCW Countryman could also make it into production, according to Goller.
“It’s definitely under consideration,” he said. “JCW has been a big success and we’ll look at doing it again here.”

I don't look at binis as minis. If you seperate the two ideas and take the name for face value i think you will find they're rather impressive cars. Ugly maybe - but not everyone prioritises looks over functionality.

I may vomit. Reminds me of the Porsche Cayenne, except it doesn't have a name to live up to.
