The scamp now has seats! found some at my local scrappy up on a shelf where it doesnt look like they have moved for ...err decades?
they are the same width as mini seats and have very similar style tartan and fabric but the runners are flat allowing them to be bolted straight through my floor. any suggestions what they might be out of?

Engine is back in situ and got a nice coat of bmc green before it went back in.
also you can see in the background both master cylinders have been replaced for the modern plastic versions which i have to say i like a lot!

just to remind you the engine has had:
new clutch
skimmed cooper 295 head with new valves all round
sw05/07 cam, followers and new oil pump
cooper freeflow manifold
itg foam air filter
twin hs2 carbs (not fitted in photo)

(flash on the camera really lightens up the paintwork!)
Whilst the scamp has been at the garage i modfied a set of scrap vauxhall frontera bullbars (shortened them by around 2 feet) and i offered up the rough result.

May have to lose the lower quarter bars in order for the indicators to be seen though!
Halogen headlight units added also.
trial fitted my storage bin, is an ex tool cabinet from a wagon, its thick plastic re-inforced with steel bars inside. This means its fairly light but v strong and waterproof!

Oh and ive started small with the painting....

Thats all for now....

Its Strange but the Scamp was supposed to be a Moke Copy but theres something about the Scamp, methinks if BMC had carried on with the Moke in the UK into the 70,s and 80,s and modernised it the Scamp is what the Moke probably would of looked like

Id have One if my Other half would let me have any more Cars

Hmmm a Scamp Automatic Wonder if anybodys done One yet?
Great Work

And those HLE seats look right at home in there

Me Likes Lots

Im hoping to help matters a bit by putting my fuel tank bang square in the middle right at the back but its still going to be very light at the back.
other than this it shouldnt be too different from a mini to be honest, in the specs it claims a fully built example should tip the scales at 600 kilo's so it will be at least as light as a mini its real limiting factor is its aerodynamics to be honest ie ....it has none.
Oh and the badge is the one that came on it ive just stripped it back to bare metal and re-painted it thats all.
