right as i promised pics of the van now its back at mine.....

after nearly 11 months of hard work it now looks like this........

sorry about all of the ******* all over the van, its just parts for it etc, i'm sure u get the gist of the 'condition' the van is now in

i waited, and waited some more, other costumers cars have jumped infront, and i got fed up waiting, so i've now decided to get the van back from the person who was supposedly welding and spraying it, and going to weld it myself and get someone else to paint it, as when it is sitting outside their workshop going rusty, i do not feel that it was making progress. i picked the van back up on the 29/10. it has cost me the sum of £450 for the person who has done this 'work' to it, to get it to this 'state' that its in now. i haven't had any offer of any money back from the person, and i doubt i will either. i have been very resonable over the past 3 weeks, and given the said person the benifit of the doubt, but after the last week and the chain of events that have unfolded, i feel that i have no choice other than to show everyone how it has been left. i feel i have been very fair by not mentioning who has done my van, or has not done it as the case may be, but that is not to mean that i will not say if people feel i should, just so they know not to use this certain person.......

Alex

ps how much would a pretty much mint mk1 door set me back???

Out of everyone mate I feel your pain as you well know. As the said person worked on my partners car and took him the best part of 18months to do it. And I had to reassemble everything. Only to get it back with a hole in the seal paint so thin you can still see the old colour of the door (not primer. :/ ). Also the runs in the paint well lets not go there. I'm shocked people still take work to him....!!!!!!

But don't worrie mate the van will live again just need some more room in your workshop...:D

Alex if you lived closer I would come and give you a hand... to help you get back on track and get your project going again.... I do feel for you being messed about and being out of pocket, some people have no consideration for others.... :P

Keep at it, it will look stunning in the end :)

Mark, I appreciate you saying that, thanks :) I need to get my bum in gear on this one, as i do really miss having the van on the road, even though it was a pile of poo when it was road legal, at least it was useable, unlike now :(

Just read through your thread. Dude thats a real ball ache about how you've been tarnished by someone who calls themself a professional.

I'm restoring my van at the moment thats been sat in my mothers garage for 10years, I too have been alittle tarnished with the sub standard welding brush! but only a small area so I will fix it myself.

Like the sound of grey with black roof and GRP 2's though. Much like the same style im going for. (see below :P )

Keep up the good work! makes me want to get out on mine.
