after having it 2 months, the gearbox decided to go bang. so i bought a temporary 1100cc engine & box (for £50) from a guy at my miniclub and fitted that. (i also at the same time upgraded the brakes to 7.5" 's' dicsc from the standard drums, and also fitted a maniflow exhaust system) after doing all this i found out that the sills on the van had been bodged with filler and brillo pads, not good!! but i decided to have the van done anyway, as it was a van after all, and i had paid an arm and a leg to buy it lol!
about october that year i stopped using the van due to reliability issues, and bought another car, so the van was left on the driveway to rot.... untill feb last year (09). this is the state it was in after it had been left afew years (bonnet was changed due to dodgey catch, i'm sure you can work out the rest for yourselves....
so i decided i wanted it back on the road at this stage, so i repaired the same £50 engine lol, i bought new wheels and tires, changed the arches, as the old 1s were rediculous, and motd him, nothing major wrong! result!!....
after using him most of last year i found that alot of the lower body was also full of filler, and that although the engine was good on juice, it drank oil like a female dog!! so i decided he finally needed a full resto, and this is how far i have got....
