its not adjustable, it just increases the back pressure on the fuel line, so when the injectors open (for a fixed amount of time) more fuel goes in

I have a 94 SPi Monte and my brother has a 95 SPi "Si Plus" kit. I actualy was just trying to find info I had on it. Right before JCG closed it doors, I called or wrote (I cant remember and cant find emails currently) and talked to a person that i believe had a Cooper last night. Anyway, he was able to tell me that my brothers car was the "Plus" kit and a little bit of info on what that intailed. I really wish I could find that info now!!!

So, I am looking into heads for my SPi and wanted something like my brothers Si but I got to thinking, at this point, almost 20 years on the design is dated. As cams have changed so have heads and materials. Now to find the right one for my car.

On the Si though, it is really something special. We are in the States which makes it that much cooler. My Monte went to Cooper back in the day and go a bunch of add-on parts. Apparently the owner went in for the Si kit but they said they would have to remove the Monte side decals so they could put the Si badges and so he declined the kit. Thats what the owner told me when i bought it at least. Makes for an interesting story:-)

The Si plus pack first appeared in the 1993 John Cooper brochure. It increased power to 78 bhp from the 74 bhp of the earlier Si pack. Compression ratio was 10.5:1. It was described as having specially shaped combustion chambers, gas flowed and polished inlet and exhaust ports and large inlet valves. It had high lift rockers, K&N filters, an oil cooler and a new ratio pulley and fan belt.
Most Cooper conversion did not include a new camshaft. The RSP and mainstream Coopers already had the MG Metro cam, which is hard to beat today. The Super kit as fitted to the Grand Prix was given a special cam as were the 1400cc conversions.
