Hi all
im going to buy some minispeed replica cooper s steels and i will need to get tyres aswell but when it comes to that i have litterally no idea what one is best?
i did a search but couldnt come up with anythhing so thought i would ask :)
im not going to be doin 100mph round corners ect. but id like a good tyre if that makes sence so im wondering what the best tyre would be for a daily driver with a 1275 :)
Cheers everyone
Sam

A008's are mid range. Good longevity and good road holding. A032Rs for best road holding but can wear out quite quick. :)

a032r's wear out hilairiously fast but the grip on the is amazeing I've had mine fitted 3 months now and the fronts are about done already :)

I only brought these because no A008s at the time but goin back to A008s as they are great aswell and last a lot longer :)

I'd rather have grip and have to change tyres a few months earlier to be honest...

If you can/want to afford it - yes! :)

But for a daily driven car, I'd rather have a compromise. And that's were the A008 fits in pretty good. OK toad holding, OK wear rate, OK in the wet. If low budget and long wear rate matters them ost - Falken FK-07E. But they are not as good as the A008, concerning handling. I always had the feeling the sidewalls are to bulbous and not stiff enough. That's certainly better with the A008!

Ill vouch for the floppy sidewalls on the falkens. My god its bad!
Then again, as far as i remember, its the only car ive driven fast which doesnt have runflats or seriously low profile tyres

I guess in the last few weeks, we've all found out that tyre choice can be dictated by road conditions. I'm using 165 70/10 Falkens, & they have been very good in the snow, sideways grip has been particularly impressive, but they don't seem as good as A008's in the wet & certainly no match for A032's.

I'll vouch for the A032R's. Great, sticky tires.

Anyone obtained any of them lately? I ordered a set from Minisport back in early December and still have not received them. SHas anyone had any luck getting them from any other vendors - or is there a shortage?

I run 032 on my Sprint, but for daily use (price/grip/longevity) Falkens cannot be beaten on my other mk1

hi there i have done 30.000 odd in my clubby mostly on falkens they wear really well i am getting around 12-13,000 out of falkens longer on the back.however following a rebuild last year which has the car in near race height, camber etc i noticed understeer at the outside of my new found extra cornering performance.fitting a008 yokos up front, stopped it,just like that!!! so they are near dead now and have done around 9,000 miles of mixed commuting and fun.i reckon having driven the a032 that a car proparly set up for road use will be better with a008's as the all wheather and wear aspects far out weigh the gains.also worth noting the wear charecterisitics of the falkens are down to harder compound which means more slippy roundabout fun in the wet! ta ta enigma
