The late 1960's version of 'Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)' featured a very nice MK1 Mini. But I can't seem to find an image of it, apart from this which I'm told was it's stunt double: -

The original (reg: BAP 245B) which still exists featured in an early Mini World Magazine article (around 1992) and it's still mint today, or so I'm told. It also appeared in a few other ITC TV shows like 'Department S'.

There was a mid 80's TV series I think called "Driving Ambition" where some bored housewife had her cooking mini modded to a spaceframed silhouette, and raced it???

Yes the racing Mini was provided by Peter Baldwin. It had a Mini Clubman style flip front and a Ford engine. The housewife came fourth overall (she led the field for ages though) but she won her class.

Seem to remember (It is 25 years ago) she spent most of the race in 2nd behind a Reliant Kitten?????

I've managed to get a copy of most of the episodes on a DVDr (I'm just missing episode one and half of episode 4) and her main opponent was Nicky Henson's unpleasant yuppie chauvinistic like character who was driving a green Vauxhall Firenza.

There was a blue souped up Reliant Kitten up front too (unlikely?), but she definitely led the field for a few laps before suddenly being caught up and finishing fourth overall but first in class.

Nicky Henson in his Vauhall Firenza won outright, but the housewife Mini driver also did the lap parade at the end and got a special mention because it was after all her first ever race.

Yes we got this film on DVD and it's pretty sick and brutal at times. The Mini is supposed to be a Rover Mini Cooper, but it's a bit of a dogs dinner really. Ex-Dr Who Christopher Ecclestone and what's his name off the newer Star Wars films feature in it.

Apart from the rubbish 1997/98 Avengers movie, Minis regularly turned up in The Avengers and The New Avengers TV series and here's one with a very desirable lady in the driving seat, i.e. Caroline Munro: -

I seem to remember it was the maze (or rat trap) sign on the rear window that caused problems for anyone who'd had a groovy time at her health farm?: -

She even starred in the 1976 James Bond film 'The Spy Who Loved Me' as the girl who was piloting that helicopter whilst trying to machine gun Bonds underwater Lotus Elite: -

She also starred in the Hammer Horror film 'Dracula AD1972' and I've read that she used to give lifts to the studio to her co-star Marsha Hunt (star of 'Hair' and one time girlfriend of Mick Jagger) in her Mini. I don't think any Minis actually appeared in that film though.

Mate, thanks for that. I never heard of Caroline Munroe before but wow what a babe. Also, that exact colour mini is what I bought in the eighties. Memories come flooding back

Already mentioned on page one and I insisted they added this short film that's called 'Vive Le Sport' (1969) which is a groovy swinging sixties Dunlop Tyres advertising film and it stars the ex-professional female blonde angel racing driver 'Liane Engeman' and Welsh actress 'Beth Morris', plus the late comedian 'Barrie Gosney': -

Click Me

If you scroll down the page a bit, you can watch the whole film via my MySpace account or in 3 parts via my YouTube account. It's only about 25 minutes long.
