I quite like the idea of something like this.

They'll be body colour what ever that ends up being or maybe one of those new chrome spray finishes.

I think that would be a good look and different as well. It may take a bit of forming to get right but should look cool especially in body colour.

I've a actually been making some enquiries into getting a Rostyle centre put into a 6x10 hoop allowing me to pick the perfect offset for the car.

That said I am still rather attached to my 5x10 magnesium wheels. :highfive:

My sort of shinny Maestro plenum turned up today. It'll need a bit of modification but I think it should look good on the back of a throttle body. :gimme:

Another day at the grind stone, I got the plenum bolted up to my inlet manifold and used the centre of a HIF44 to stand in for the throttle body.
Posted Image

Then I decided I needed a mock up engine in the car to check fitment of a few things. This is where working at a Mini specialist comes in handy. :P
Posted Image

With the engine lifted in it seems I should be fine with the new plenum.
Posted Image

I also lent a Metro radiator in, this wont be the exact type I'm using but it'll do for now.
Posted Image

After nailing a few pieces of wood together as an impromptu mount I got the SC sat fairly close to where it'll end up.
Posted Image

Posted Image

The inlet to the plenum will need a little working to clear the clutch master cylinder but that's no problem.
Posted Image

The belt set-up should be fairly simple as well, the pulley nailed to the wood represents where the alternator will sit.
Posted Image

Ground clearance is one thing I'll be lacking, that's a AA battery.

Tupers, I am following your work, but never have anything to say! I think your work's great, although I'm not a fan of those ronal wheels... as you say, they make the side look as flat a s a pancake!

I'm not sure on the headlights either, but I'm sure they will look better in paint :D

Anyway, just wanted to say, keep it up!

Edit: is there any chance you would be able to measure the ground clearance from floorpan/gearbox/front panel.

I've got no front panel to measure from and I have an idea.. but that's a secret

Thanks Steve I'll get those measurements for you tomorrow, I hope your super secret front panel idea isn't the same as mine. O_O

Just another word or an airbox graham, they do however differ slightly as they are usually for pieced induction use

Tupers, have you looked at the plenum to see if you nee to add a restrictive ring? I'm sure I read some of the guys on TM having problems with plenums without restrictor rings, unless your not using a carb and running some kind of throttle body? In which case, ignore me completely

Don't doubt the lights they're amazing. :P A plenum is basically something that holds air at a positive pressure, in this case the high pressure air from my charger.

If I can stop blowing my wages at the start of every month I'll be running the Specialist Components 5 port engine management set-up, because I'm a tart. ^_^
