Thanks Holly, I'm sure Stitch'll be fine. I could have had Fom on the road in 6 months but I keep getting carried away with the mods.

Last night a started drawing up ideas of how I'm going to set-up the belts and build the outlet manifold fro the SC.
Posted Image

I got the solid mounting to the front of the frames sorted.
The front mounts have been moved up by 5MM to match the tower spacers. The small spacer between the frame and front panel will be replaced a larger one welded to the frame when it's finished.

I also got a little over excited and bought one of these from DSN Classics. It's a little premature but it's also very shinny and pretty.

Just read through your build and you have done such an amazing job, your metal work and ideas are just mind blowing, great skills.

Can't wait to see more of this :)

You've not been listening to us kids talking again have you.

It is indeed a nice bit 'o' bling. The mega beefy alternator mount and extra holes for the trigger wheel senor should come in handy when I come to making the brackets to lower the alternator.

Having sort 4 of the 6 subframe mounting points I moved onto the toe board today. I had planned to cut down a set of fabricated steel ones but decided that it would be easier to start from fresh and make my own.

Starting with these cut from 3MM steel.

After a little trimming I got it all bolted/clamped together.

I tacked them in situ and then took them to the work bench to finish welding. Not one of my best efforts but they're strong and will have a small gusset added as per to stock replacements. I was quite surprised at how different they ended up compared to the originals.

Nice work on the mounts, top fab skills as ever! They do look different to the others, but hey if they fit!

That DSN cover is incredibly nice. It's a good job they don't make one for an MPi else I think my wallet would be a little lighter by now. I'm impressed by the kit that accompanies it, very comprehensive.

Good work as ever. I do love this thread! Its gonna be a mean estate when its done. Did I read somewhere you are planning on making the engine sit a little higher? How you planning on doing that?

There's actually a rack bolted on there now, I'd say there's about 1/2MM clearance between the rack and frame. I did contemplate bolting the rack to the frame but it would really serve no purpose.

I'm not set how I'm going to raise the engine yet but I'm thinking a thick spacer plate under each mount with high tensile bolts right the way through should do it.
