I think it's important to have modern things in the kitchen - You want everything to be nice and clean & useable - But as you say, I think it's important to keep the traditional alongside. And - I love my tap, lol :w00t:

This will be the most "modern" room in the house, but I think it needed to be, really! - However, I hope the colour of the units and the wood help to keep it faithful to the house & make it cosy.

And - I know it's a bit long-winded to measure your entire kitchen to match the tiles that you've bought ... so that the sockets sit perfectly in the middle of every tile .... but it looks so uniform and neat!! I'm sooooo pleased that we did!!

We grouted the tiles fully today & all the gaps are brilliant! E_E's done an amazing job with them ... I can't thank him enough! :)

Cellar ... I think will need a damp proof membrane, just to be on the safe side. However, we think the main problem is that it can't breathe - The hideously ugly front porch has been built over the top of one of the venting bricks ... So once summer comes & we get that porch off, we'll see if it dries out.

We're also putting 2 radiators down there, so it will go some way towards keeping it dry ;)

Chains? :ermm:

Nope ...

No idea what you're on about ;)

I like the mix of modern & tradition too, Bean. Looks fab. :teehee:

And don't worry about planning your kitchen around your tiles, I did ours around a ridiculous gothic cupboard & my obsession with black 'n' red. :sneaky:

You getting the cellar sorted this year, then?

We're getting to engineer fella to come & have a skwizz at ours too. Slight water problem. Moist. :) Keep us posted with what happens with yours....

Aw, thanks Miss Ju! :)

Hopefully, yesh! But there's nothing planned at the moment - It's one of those things that needs doing, but isn't decided when!

No, that's not a bad idea at all! :)

Rad man rang this morning, they've still not had their delivery of our radiators :(

However, they've offered us an upgrade on the 3 outstanding ones - and they have the better ones in stock - so that's good.

Hopefully arriving tomorrow, but depending on haulage - should be in the next couple of days!

K has been laying a lot of the pipework for the rads that we've got! :)

And now back to bed ... I'm pretty sure its not normal to hear and feel your lungs crackle when you breathe out! :(

Got them delivered to Mum & Dads, rather than at the house - as I'm still stuck here with a chest infection!

Wonder if the 'rents will notice? >_<

Heh! I like to think so! :geek: I know it's not really about the investment as such .. but it'd be nice to think that you're not going to lose out!

Rads seem to be a big hit! :D

Yet to unwrap the Y46001000 ... but I have a feeling they're gonna be gorgeous!! :D :gimme:
