I hope you're talking to Mr K there, Freddy? :D :P

Appreciate it though, thanks - But we managed to insulate the loft for £30 last year - To over the recommended thickness ... Not going to complain if the chap on the checkout in Homebase can't tell the difference between £2.50 and £5! :P

I'm at workies today, but Mr K and E_E are at the house for the day! :)

I think I'll let the photos speak for themselves in this update:

(Don't worry 'bout the arch - Promise it's supported massively the other side! - But it's coming out soon anyways.)

Not actually fixed in place yet - There's a few things to sort on each & want everything to set completely in place.

I adooooore them

Think they've both done a great job! :D

think you'll have 9 bricks in your shallow arch .. you'll need them side on as they are now

135798642

thats the pattern you want so 9 is the key stone and 1 and 2 are the first bricks you put in to the arch - might be worth seeing if mr k can knock you up a little former to sit on top of the window to help the bricks sit in place whilst the mortar sets over a few days then slowly remove the former and ta'dah you'll have a lovely arch back ...

(taken advice from my dad) if you need an explination in more depths let me know! >_<

AJPerry - I wouldn't worry about it .. most people on here call me 'dude' or 'mate' >_< CharlieBrown thought I was a chap, 'til he met me a year later ... He was most shocked! :(

Thanks - We'd been on and off house hunting for a year and a half - It just shows that the right one is out there. We missed out on a stunning old school house, but looking back now - This one suits us so much more.

Bamby - Legend!! Thanks so much to your Dad! Really, really appreciate it! I will pass it on to Mr K and if he needs anything, I'll let him know where to come!!

Thanks, all!! :xxx:

Well, with no better way to spend my evening, this evening ... :) :)

I've just trawled through 30,000 wallpaper pictures. :dontgetit:

And I've come out with 4 that I like... 3 of which for the same room - one I like but don't have a clue where it would go.

Eeeuuuuuurghhhh. :ermm:

On a plus side, I started to strip the door yesterday - In a brave move - Totally going against the boss's recommendations! :o

Glad I did though - The detail it's brought out in the shape of the wood are a huge improvement.

Photos soon ... :)

30'000......
I think after seeing that many id have grown a hatred and decided to just stick with some good old paint :)

Bot how did you manage to narrow it down to 4? That must've taken some time and skill haha!

I want to come live with you once its done  :( :(

Lol, I didn't narrow it down to 4 ...

I only actually liked 4

That's my huge problem - I'm so picky when it comes to design (being a designer) - I annoy myself with my pickiness - but if it's not right, I just won't be happy, lol :( :(

Had a thought the other day that I might be tempted to lightly stencil it ... :)

I utterly adore this:

If there was wallpaper like that, that'd be great ... but there isn't - Because all wallpaper has a repeat :( And I hate repeats :ermm:

Lol, you're probably totally terrified now and changed your mind about moving in, lol :(

Paint FTW to be honest haha!

Something like that would be cool in one (or a few) of the main rooms.

Can make something really your own then, and its possibly cheaper? than wallpaper. Especially if you make/design the stencil yourself!

I'm more a man of simplicity, less = more and all that... lol

All week and you've sanded a bit of a door and not chosen wallpaper? You need to pull your finger out if we're having a malvern afterparty there! :D

Yep - We're doing well! :D I've been off work for 2 days and now K's not feeling great either! :teehee:

More than welcome to come over after Malvern ... Just don't expect running water in the kitchen! :P Other than that - We're all good!

Mr Shaw - I'm hoping for a happy medium between modern and traditional - I want to stay faithful to the house, but make it modern and comfortable for every-day ...

Talking of which, K spilt a load of coffee on the living room floor the other day

Brought the floor boards up reaaaally well - I've never seen them clean before! :ermm:
