I went out into the cold today to remove the wheels from my project to put some steel ones on. This didn't happen because I can't find the key for the locking wheel nuts!
So I went to halfords and bought the Laser nut removal tool, but it doesn't work because the nuts are sunk into the wheels, not protruding.
Does anyone know a way to remove them? Without damaging the wheels!
Note - I can't take it to a garage due to it having no test/tax/insurance or front end!
Help!

I always use a large extractor socket. If you haven't got one or can't borrow one you might end up having to chisel it round to undo it.

if it hasent got the slipper coller on it then get a socket that will only just fit and a half inch extention you dont mind smaking on the end and bash the sockert on then get a pry bar and ease it loose

if you not got pry bar use a ratchet and a bit of steal pipe/scaffolding

if its like the bmw mini ones with like the splines on the locking key you can oftern just smaks an extention in the splined hole dont be soft with your tools if there good quality it wont hurt them the locking nuts are mad of soft alloys and crapy metal they will break befor you tools will

also failing thes you will need a good drill along time and alot og drill bits and some one to spray easing oil on the bit while you try drilling it out. (you dont want to be doing)

if you live in an place with out much crimmanal activity then dont put lock nut on there waste off time people hardly ever steal wheel they just rob the shop that sells them
crimminals have goten lazy haha. good luck and have fun

Put a picture up of the locking wheel nut and i will check what i have. I've got various spare locking wheel nut sockets so i may have one to suit.

Cheers

It was when I had a blow out on the motorway when i found out that the tea leaf at the tyre/exhaust centre had kept my locking nut removal tool, the RAC couldn't remove it, so we called the dealership out, their master locking nut kit couldn't remove it, so he used the magic tool...A HAMMER and a piece of round steel bar...I cringed each time he wacked at the wheel, but it worked...the shock and vibration loosen the nuts so he could release it with a pair of long nosed pliars! worst was still to come, he still had to do it on the other three wheels so he could put the new locking nut on each wheel.
