Most socket sets only have 2 plug sockets, take them both, but its usually the larger one , normal sockets aren't deep enough.

http://www.ngk.com/m...?AAIA=&pid=2196

14mm Thread, 19mm (3/4") Reach, 13/16" (20.6mm) Hex Size, Gasket Seat, Non-Resistor, Solid Terminal, JIS Height, Projected Tip, .032" (0.8mm) Gap, Heat Range 6

Seems it is the 21mm socket

A spark plug socket always works for me.

Seriously though there are two sizes of spark plug sockets, it could be either, you should have them in your socket set.

a normal socket will be useless.

The Mini uses the "larger" spark plug size which requires a 13/16" deep socket. That would indeed be close to 21mm.

Really? The smaller spark plugs are 5/8" across the flats. I've never seen them on any A-series head. The Champion N9Ys and NGK BP6ES plugs I've used for years in my British cars have all been 13/16" across the flats. This was also the size of the AC and Bosch plugs I ran for a while. What plugs are you guys using that are the smaller size?
