Yup...all done by me. Time, effort and a little bit of money is all it takes...and a serious amount of hours cruisin' the web to learn stuff and find inspiration!

Had the car at the tracks this weekend, to tweak the suspension, and do some testing. Had problems with the FD leading coil messing up at high boost when warm, so it was mostly cruising and short pulls. Managed to outdrive a couple of 911 GT3s on the straight a couple of times...FUN for me, but they was a bit upset...and surprised!

Going to do a Dyno-session tomorrow to figure out the ignition problems (now FC coil) and do a power-test...will post the numbers!
Made some LIVE footage as requested, but it looks a bit lame because of the problems we encountered, combined with slicks and cold tarmac... The car is faster than the video makes it look, but you get an idea:

Just a track car...used on the roads at special occations!WOW that thing is truely amazing
id love to have a go in that
is it a road car and track car or just track car?

Had the car on the Dyno today, found the ignition-bug, tweaked the ECU a bit and made some pulls...
RESULT: 365 bhp and 417 Nm measured at the wheels!!!! That'll do....

You should also post it on RetroRides, would probs get quite a bit of attention on there and there's a guy doing a 12a powered Viva HB in New Zealand too.

Long time visitor, but few posts... Located in Norway
The car was until may 2009 a turboed A-series, but after yet another breakdown, I started this conversion.
One of the ideas behind it is cost. It is a budget-build, and TOTAL convertion is about 6K.
The engine is from a RX-7 FD 1995. Originally a twin-turbo engine, but now singel-turboed.
Water/methanol injected for cooling, MS injected, and "some" custom sollutions. Hopefully it will turn out about 300bhp, but my engine-guy wants to fuel it with E85 ( 85% alcohol 15% petrol) and don't think he can make it to run less than 350-370bhp...Time will tell.
Prop-shaft is custom-made, and will cope with upto 1000bhp, and the gearbox is covered by a kevlar-mat...both is dragracing-spec for safety.
Rear axel is from a Volvo, suspension is Spax coilovers, and it is all connected with 4link and panhard from a Ford RS2000, suspended in the roll-cage...sort of space framed. Rear brakes are a combo of BMW and Audi.
Front subframe are still Mini, but modified to suspend the engine. Front suspension is also Spax.
Everything, apart from ECU, water-injection and turbo-parts are things U might find at your local breaker, to keep the cost down.
The bulge in the bonnet IS nessecary to cover everything! We will use 2010 to sort out everything, and make it work,
and the plan for the 2011 season is to modify the intake and lower all the aux, so that a smaller bonnet can be used.
Again...BUDGET!
The car is not done, so the finnish is not great, but we'll have it up and running soon.
Track-ready-deadline is set to april...
how did you do the rear subframe? I'm thinking of doing the rotary swap except with the Renesis outta the RX8 and into a Mini Van.
