but its an odd one, to play it safe have the sidelight plain white as there are less chances of getting caught by the police and they should be fine to use

why dont you just change to a halogen conversion i think angel eyes are just for looks more than anything and if you say you want something so you can see you are best getting something practical

I don't think a smaler reflector will be brigther than a big one.
What's left on the angle eyes? 5"? Std. is 7"!
If you want more & better light: Get good new H4 headlamps and 'look at the bright side'

The fact that the lamps aren't E makred is what makes them illegal.

you can get e approved ones but there like £99

Well when I had my MOT I was told the beam patten wasn't right. They didn't fail me for it just told me. On a normal light the beam if a straight line and then goes up on the ends if that makes any sense. Angel eyes just have a flat line. Thats why their not e-marked.
Not sure if that makes sense someone on here will be able to explain it better.
Yeh They Kickup On The Left In The Uk And Angel Eyes Have No Kick Up, But The Normal Beam Is Just A Circle So I Dont Think There Should be Much To Argue On The Mot, Buh Just Swap Them Over Mot Time Thas Wha Im Gunna Doo

The majority of the light beam is controlled by the bulb, not the lens, and a good quality H4 bulb will provide the necessary line between dipped and main beam, which is why angle eyes and other crystal light units pass the MOT...
However, the Road Vehicles Traffic Act, clearly state that appropriate markings are on the lights... this is what our friendly police person will use as their guidance...
The E mark is an indication of the quality of manufacture, that the have been tested as fit for use on the road etc etc ( similar to a BS Kite mark ).
There are loads of things which will pass an MOT which are not legal for road use,
