hi all,
im quite new to painting and have a couple of questions about cleaning equipment. im planning on priming the floorpan (inside and out) with a 2k primer then rustoleum spraying it (we use it at work in a wet environment and it hardly ever rusts) thinning with white spirits. then and this is the bit i dont want to screw up i want to 2k filler primer the whole thing and then 2k paint basicaly so its got a good rust proof layer on the external base panels. my worry is what should i clean the gun out with after using the rustoleum / whitespirits or is it an other gun for non oil based paints.
any help greatly appreciated
ps will barcoat the whole car after rustoleuming the chassis before re-priming to stop any reaction
thanks all

whatever you use to thin the paint you can use to clean out the gun, so in this case white spirit is fine. if you are using your gun for other paints it's still no problem, however I always dismantle my gun and thoroughly clean it, don't just spray thinners through.

My mate used rustoleum on his pickup and he didn't prime, it seemed to go on fine, I'll speak to him tomorrow and ask him for some tips, IE what he'd do different next time etc...
