Hi, I got some 6 x 10 deep dish ultralights wheels from hudderfields mini spares at the brighton run. As a non mechniacal minded person, i didnt know anything until JETS replaced my tyres and damaged a rim. *melons*, which they r replacing! The chap at JETS told me that i need spigots rings which stop the wheel from moving up and down on the brake disks. I ve had a look on the hudderfields site but they dont sell them. Bit late to call them now, id try tomorrow but if they dont sell them, anyone know what size i would need and where to get them. Thanks

This is very strange! Do these wheel really need Spigot rings to fit? I thought the wheels were meant for minis and nothing else (apart from a few other old British cars that adopt the same PCD layout), so they'd fit out the box?

If they don't fit,.. I'd be inclined to say that they've sold you the wrong fitment, Ford perhaps....

A guy in our club has Deep dish ultralites and I'm certain they went straight on, no spigot rings.

Hope the call to Huddersfield sorts everything out for you ;)

Spigots aren't really necessary if the wheel nuts provide a method of locating the wheel (Sleeves/taper etc)

Once the wheel is bolted up the spigots do nothing, they just help you getting it lined up to start with.

.. in addition - the hole in the ring is usually off-centred,.. the ring can then be turned, and hey presto you have a wheel that can be fit to many different makes and models of cars, needing only a pin punch and hammer to bring the holes inline.

yeah have to agree mate, you shouldnt need spigot rings, i used to sell alloy wheels and you only supply them if they are a multi fitment wheel, mini wheels are a straight "out of the box" fitment. so like retro_10s said if they do need them then they have sold you the wrong fitment. usually its ford.
hope you get sorted with your phone call tomorrow.

you can't fit spigot rings to a mini even if they made them, there's no lip on the flange/drum for them to sit over.

thats what i thought that once on with the bolts tight they should line up. they should be ok. I guess they are for just helping to lining them up like you say. Not called them yet. been at work all day. I cant see them being ford fitment as i brought them from a mini specialist.
I am sure if the wheels were all on and fitted dogdey. i would of noticed whilst driving it.Cheers

Just spoke to someone at hudderfields. only a girl was there to speak, shes going to check tomorrow, but even she was pretty sure that all sets come with spigot rings. I find out tomorrow.
