If I were you I would move those rear mounts to the bottom of the seat, the rear parcel shelf is not strong enough and if you were to have an accident your seatbelts would be useless as the shelf would just peal away.

If you do a quick search I think there is an FAQ on where the mounts should go

the angle had nothing to do with my post. Yes you can have them at that angle but the stress in a heavy crash WILL peal that shelf away like butter. I have seen it and it's not pretty.
jonny998cc, how fast were you driving and was it head on when you hit a tree?? if so then you were very lucky. The parcel shelf is only fixed to the body at the front and rear by spot welds. both sides are not in contact with the outside of the shell.

But hey, your car, I can only advise you of the dangers

Would have to agree that those mounting points dont look strong enough should you have a shunt. Are you putting a diagonal bar on the roll cage? If so you could mount them on that, other than that could they not go on the floor with some proper backing plates.

Hi, there I would have to agree with the others about the mounting location. I would look at the using something like this from minisport.
Harness bar

Just my idea.

Good luck with it all.

Martin.

ive thought about it, and i take it back, my freind pointed out how it wold rip the shelf away from the shell.

im going too eaither get a harness bar or tie the mounting points into the shell better

as for jonnys crash he was only going about 30 and he was very lucky as his 3 point harness was only bolted with a m4 bolt!

in which case he was extremely lucky. Glad you're rethinking it! I have mine mounted to the exisiting seatbelt mounts on the rear seat. Gives you the 45 degree angle for the rear straps which is perfectly acceptable. The spreadder plates and eyelet bolts you have would go there without any issue.
