caught out!!!, hope you can sort Huey out...
If it was the rear, have you got neg camber??? I have on Ratty and his
rear behaves very well in the wet... But Huey may be worse due to less
weight iver the wheels..

Just found this thread and seen the pictures - although let's hope it's not as bad as we think
I've learnt a lot from you Mr Teapot and i'm with everyone here in hoping that you can get it all sorted.
Best of luck

If the recovery firm plays silly b*ggers tomorrow and won't release Huey without a huge fee I'll have to turn it over to the insurer. Huey will be written off and then we'll see about buying him back for whatever purpose -- rebuild or bits He is insured for £4k agreed value.

So sad to see this, I've always loved looking at pictures of your Huey, he was one of the best looking pickups I'd ever seen a picture of.
I think no matter what the outcome of the insurance, you should strive to fix him to his former glory, he really is too good to be let go.
Good luck with it all, and I look forward to the rebuild diary .

Good luck today Pops.
Now I've looked at it, I still can't see how that wheel popped like that with no impact. I suspect that something may have been awry with that suspension work you had done. You might want to get an independent assessor look at the OSF wheel assembly to see if anything looks out of sorts/sheared etc

Yeh, that was the reason and Mr Plod was very firm about it so they must be aware of the implications. Thanks for your offer Sean, I'll let you know. I just found he's gone to Wimple, not Wimborne, so that's not too far away near Exeter, not Dorset.bloody police cant insist its recovered unless is causing a obstrution
Thanks all for your good wishes. I feel a left & right pillock. Minimadjonesy will remember what I look like from the last time I er, made contact with something.
For Crying Out Loud Teapot! Why is it always the spotless cars you trash!! lol
Seriously though, if you need any help let me know, I still have some leave left and Emma was saying the other day that we should arrange to come and see you and Gill sometime soon.
Glad you're ok and that you're not hurt. Had an image of you in my head sliding down the road, hands gripping the steering wheel and eyes wide open like a rabbit in headlights! Seems it's that time of year for it though what with my indcident on thursday. At least another mini wasn't involved this time (mrsmini madjonesy's mini was rear ended without so much as a kind word from Huey a few years ago!! )
Whatever you do don't let him be scrapped, we've all spent too much time and effort for this small mishap to be the end of a great and reliable old friend
