This might help you a bit.

Personaly if you dont have any heating and ventilation I would leave painting until it gets warmer, the finish wont be so good at this time of year because of the damp and the bodywork being cold which can lead to blooming.

Also painting over celly with 2K can cause problems and as said 2K really needs to be baked. The celly will look bad if sprayed this time of year in a garage.

I think you can spray 2k over celly but not visa versa.

Two pack does not need baked, you can get a polar hardener for it to help with the air temp, just remember you should use a mask that is supplied with air for spraying it. Celly has had it's day and in no way should be compared to 2 pack.

Don't know about celly having its day it was ideal for me as i had no air fed mask and sprayed the car in a small garage (had to move it about to get around it). Also read something about classic cars looking more authentic as 2k does have a deep shine to it.

My first ever attempt at spraying a car,

If celly is all you can spray then there is nothing wrong with that but you need to put the extra prep work in as celly sinks and shows up any problems with your prep work. 2k is very forgiving but does have that little problem with fumes....

Of the 2 paints, 2k is a lot more forgiving than cellulose, You normally find that with celly you have to put a few more coats on to get a nice depth, Only thing you have to remember is that 2k contains isocyanate which is poisonous, I always say if you start with celly then stay with celly it just removes the problem of potential complications. But at this time of year celly can bloom & go dull you will need plenty of heat in your garage.

years ago when cars were painted in cellulose and 2k first came out it was common to put celly basecoat on then use 2k laquer on top.
