Mikalor clamps are much easier to use than jubilees .. they also don't cut into the hose as much and are available in S/S

I know this is an old thread, but Iv got this job to do when new rad arrives this week. Last time I done it I remember really struggling to get the bottom hose back on the rad... any tips?!

Put it on the rad first, then connect it to the water pump once in.

I've always found this method much easier, and also less messy because any remaining coolant can still sit in the bottom of the rad.

I seem to remember doing this last time but then having issues getting the rad/hose past the cowl? (The one that bolts to the rad)

Do you remove the cowl and fit that to the rad off the car?

It does depend on the car.
as some had two piece cowls for a reason.

bit full assemble rad and cowl and bottom hose. Place in car. Attach hose to water pump. Do up mounting bolts for rad.

ps make sure the fan is on the correct way. Smooth side to engine.

Cheers nick! When you it depends on the car, do you mean just different production tolerances?

Age. Model etc they are not all the same. Also there are different fan spacer configurations bottom rad mounts and top rad mounts.
