Mini Cooper:
1998:
Indicator light flashing rapidly. I thought I had fixed this problem by changing the bulb (which was blown) on the front of the car. After changing the bulb both indicators worked. Next day its back to flashing rapidly with the front bulb out, however it seems to be intermittent sometimes its alright but mostly not.:

Indicators flash rapidly to tell you you've got a bulb out, if their falshing rapidly and all the bulbs are working then i'd say it's the flasher relay.

As it's intermittent it's more likely to be a duff connection on one of the bulbs, first thing i'd do is take all the bulbs out clean the connections and put Vaseline on them, if that doesn't cure it then look at the relay.
