hi there i was just wondering the best way to cut a bonnet vent out of my mini and where the bestplace would be to put it. also what would be the best way cut out the vents

any ideas

plz leave your opinions ^^

reason is im installing a viper induction kit on the mini(much better than the K&N one as the viper kit is bolted on and not just a bit jubilee clip) and i want to increase theair flow comeing into the engine and also to let out the heat as it is rather cramped in there ^^

An ERA turbo scoop fitted to the roof of the bonnet would in theory increase the air flow going through your engine bay, many people just stick them on but theres no reason ( i can think of) that you cant cut the shape then fit the scoop.

im just a bit iffy about were to cut like i dont want to weaken the bonnet in any way but if the era turbo has it in a certain area is should be ok

Wouldn't effect the structure really if you left the back lip on the bonnet when you cut it, just remove part of the top skin.

im all for these vents but are there not others that face a different way? just would more air get into the filter if the vent was cut the opposite direction?

wouldent it just suck water into the filter and you would go through lots of filters?

i went for the ERA bonnet vent

under the vent are a series of holes to let the hot air out of the engine bay

yeh i have took that into concideration due to the fact minis dont really do well with water lol but there must be some way to stop that happening the idea is so not only can the engine let out heat but let the filter get a direct suction of air like id prefer is the air was comeing in and hitting the air filter dead on which is why i thought the 3 holes at the front of the bonnet and have and air feed from it up to the filter anybody with any other ideas?

plz feel free to voice your own opinion
>_<

no problem with cold air entering the minis engine bay as the grill at the front takes up most of the frontal area

removing the heat from the back of the engine bay is helped by vents
