I think it's a little harsh to count him out completely. But when viewing any mini, looking for certain rust hiding places and knowing that the car has been serviced etc.

i worked there for nearly 12 months. when i started there, it was very different to how it is now. all the cars were around the £1800 mark then. with some welding and attention we were soon working as a team and were churning out better cars for more money.

when i started there i was originally only given the task of building a limo for them, i had it ready for paint in about 3 months and after that spent my time doing welding and any of the more invloved mechanical bits, like the odd clutch or gearbox, and simple stuff like headgaskets. if you came there in the time i was there i was the bald guy, often with a beard and always in overalls.

bob (the stocky guy with a short beard) was generally in charge of valleting, simpler mechanical tasks, and looking after sales and dealing with customers when paul wasnt there.

paul (the tall slim guy) was the owner of the business and was the main sales guy on tuesdays and weekends, he was also the one who stumped up the cash for everything.

i didnt work on every car that came through the doors at the time i was there as there wasnt enough time, but we would often have "discussions" about what was best for both the car and what was best for making profit, but then i was only on a wage so my views would obviously be different to those of a managers.

i havnt worked there since may, so i have no idea what the cars are like now, or who is doing any work for them.

i would think it is unfair to say avoid them as some of the cars that came in were very good, low mileage time warp cars were as good as they looked. i cant say i was entirely happy about every aspect of every car that came out the doors, but as i say those decisions were out of my hands.

i think i have given a pretty good account of how i saw things there, and hope that if either paul or bob read this they are not offended by anything i have written. on the whole they are a good pair of lads and if you know what your looking for you can get a very good car from them. dont forget you do get a waranty from them and whilst i was there we did honour the waranty for anyone who had a problem.

i brought mine from there in march 2010, within the first hr of it being delivered i found out the headlights didnt work, nor did the indicators and the fog lights had moss growin over the contacts and no bulbs in them, the car had a mot the day before..
my fault i guess cause i brought it over the net without lookin at first , delivery had to be postponed for a wk cause paul called me sayin the car had broke down and very kindly said he wouldnt hold me to the sale if i didnt want it now, however i told him to fix it and bring it, he took the coil off his own car and did just that.
i decided to take it for a mot six mth later, it failed on a worn hub, worn wheel bearings, worn front brakes, split cv gators, leakin exhaust, the front subframe rubbers had perished, emissions and the indicators again!!
i still have her tho and shes a daily runner now but will soon be needin some new front panels
make ya own minds up guys!
