Hi all.

Just wondering if anyone has brought a mini from Paul Higgs cars? (http://paulhiggscars.com)

I'm considering buying a mini form there soon and I'd like to know any experiences or feedback from customers.

Thanks in advance.

i bought my mini from him but was disappointed as the service was ok but when my car went wrong they back tracked on their warranty so he would not pay for the part i needed even though it was in warranty with them for 1 month

so ok if you are looking for a car from them to do up as a rolling project. but not so good if you are looking for a good mini with little work needed

my opinion only!!!!

yours Rick

i bought my metro from them a few months back and its every bit as good as it was meant to be, so cant grumble really?

i did go look at a mini from him a while back, and i the ones there at the time did look very shiny etc, but i was after a project car at the time and they were all a bit too good to pull apart really.

Put a deposit down on a Mini from Paul higgs and it turned out to be a Cat D/stolen recovered when i did a check on it.

Gave me the deposit back but didnt seem very pleased that i found out, although he claimed not to know. Might of been an honest mistake.

Seemed a nice enough guy but it definatley just a car salesmen.

I bought my N reg Sprite off him, he was selling it with 12 months Mot. Never again, the car is now off the road though due to a gear box problem.
The car can't have passed its mot, because the brake lights wern't working, only one headlight came on with the headlights, one tyre was shot but I was putting my alloys on anyway so it didn't matter. I don't know who does the mot's for him, but beware! Although he is a nice person, I wouldn't buy another car from him. Every Mini he buys he seems to spray, to maybe to hide the rust?

Old post but bought a car a couple of months ago from them and it's a complete rust bucket covered in filler, can't understand how it past its MOT, the subframe mounts werent attached in a long time from the condition of them, there were holes in the wheel arches covered by sealant, the indicators didn't work when it passed. I would recommend it if your after a not so cheap project with 12months MOT but other than that I'd avoid them. (Hope this is helpful to someone)

My car came from him earlier this year.
I would agree on some peoples comments about who does the MOT's for him as some things were, lets say questionable. On my car, the windscreen washers did not work and two tyres were questionable. Along with a few other silly bits like indicators had red bulbs >_<
But I have found no serious problems as yet and he was fine to deal with. No hassel with him delivering the car for me either.
I cannot complain on the service as he was pleasent to deal with, but he is just a salesman I think.

Thanks. Might be worth popping down and having a look. Does he have access to ramps there?

I'm not quite sure whether he has access to ramps in his building there, sorry.

I think that all of the above just goes to reinforce the fact that you should check a mini over properly, even if it is from a 'specialist'.
