Waxoyl Clear......a Question

I started to apply clear waxoyl the the under side of my car. However, when applied, it goes on and looks sort of yellow and a little lumpy. Even when I thinned it with white spirit, the same thing happenned. I also placed the can in a bucket of hot water for at least 30 minutes.
Should this be happenning? if so, does it actually dry so it is clear, or will it just look yellowy?
I am using the pressure can with a plunger on the top. Is there a better type of wax which actually is clear when applied, and how is this done? When the spary was coming out, it was more like a sqirt than a fine spary. Should it spray a fine mist?
I have wiped away what I have done, ready to start again.
Can anyone please shed some light on this?
Cheers

it will dry yeallow ish. it wont be crystal clear. what i do is hammerite the underside, followed by underseal (with waxoil) and then hammerite again. just because i do this it doesnt mean it is right
the aplicator squirts the waxoil, mainly to get it into box sections, eg there are only 3-4 rust proofing ports on mini sills, therefore need to squirt it into the sills to get decent coverage
