Ken / Ultimini has got his money now, hopefully I'll have the valance in a few weeks. by the way, do you know any details about th ework Allan Staniforth did on your car's suspension, I think that was your car in any case...maybe while in the hands of the previous owner?

Right now I'm still working on boring stuff like ally panel fab...hopefully I'll have a substantive update in a week or so.

Sorry no details about his specific role, but i learned through youtube that he designed and made it, if i remember correctly he posted that as a reply on a vid of my car. It was while the car was being build, I didn't build the car myself. He did a good job, it functions exactly how I would like it to, i haven' t tried it on a track though, so this information isn't very good/ usefull...
Where did you find out he worked on my car? Is he working on yours too?

Actually, I found out that Ken, MD of Ultimini, is good friends with the guy who originally owned your car. He didn't really have many details other than to say that the PO spent "a lot of money with Allan" on the suspension design and setup on the car. I asked him for contact info on the previous owner so I coudl chat with him to see if he knows any specifics if you're interested. I do find the rear suspension on your car very interesting, as it's the first mid engined Mini(esque) I've seen that is Chapman (MacPherson) strut with adjustable toe control...

Hi Aric,

The car was built by Wayne Knightingale of Knight Motorsport engineering - Holme Upon Spalding Moor, York. 07785 248580

It was built for a customer based in Israel. Although the car never went home and stayed in the UK.

Wayne's not a member on here so probably best call him.

His latest project is a FWD R1 turbo

Les.

I remember this car as well as I wish to buy it. but I cound not go any more than £20,000 and he wanted more. If I had it I would of give it. The guys name was Avi I believe, but it was a few years back now. It was a great car.

...a new RCC high flow fuel rail to match the new Bosch / Injector Dynamics high dynamic range EV14 injectors for the next dyno session - off idle behavior and ixture control should be greatly improved with this new setup!

Hi Monte,

I spoke to Wayne last week and he told me my suspension actually is a miniature of a Lancia Stratos!

It's not so much extra ponies I'm after with the injector amd fuel rail swap - the change was done for better controlling off-throttle response and part throttle mixture. The old-style EV1 (RC Engineering) injectors are 40 year old technology and are just not up to the task of feeding such a high dynamic range engine (1.3L displacement, 360+BHP).

looks sweet, how many extra ponies are we talking there?

...worked on my new cockpit adjustable anti-roll bars and the fiberglass / aluminum door fitment this weekend. A few small issues with the anti-roll bars that can be worked out, but what a pain the doors were. This is my second set of doors from Z-Cars and the passenger one was so twisted I had to cut the skin off and start over. Ugh. At least the driver side one will need only small tweaks it looks like...

The second dyno tuning session was a total bust. The engine is solid, but almost no progress from the first round in December - basic mapping is complete, but a lot of detailed tuning is going to be necessary once it's in the car. $2500+ sunk into one day paying two separate people, ugh..how depressing The good news it's finally going to be shipped to me after 10 months so it can go in the car.
