Went to a little meet with other like minded nutters!

Run went smooth but I've put the Falken 145 tyres on now, there was nothing wrong with the Yoko 165's but it needed a more sleeper look, you might not notice the difference but I certainly do, little bit more comfort driving and the sidewall looks more 'rounded' and that was the thing that was bugging me, the 165's were flat sidewalls, these are little old ladies sidewall  :D

But if the sleet starts then straight back to the Yokos!

Here's the Yoko 165's

And the Falken 145's

Tyres tuck nicely in the arches, more rounded sidewall all round and just a general feeling of some impending demoralising due out on the road  :shifty:

Still need to put the correct tyre pressures in and get the suspension alignment done again sometime as it was done on the 165's but as these have a now 70 profile ratio as opposed the 60 before you get a slight rub on my inner wheel arch at full lock, nothing major just annoying so I know as soon as I crank up the hi los up a tad the other settings will be out, will leave that to another time though, I can handle a small annoying factor in the meantime

Just chucking in some pics, you've probably seen them before but its getting near its sleeper status now

Very VERY well executed! Have i said that before?  :shifty:

Hands down, the best engine conversion on TMF in my opinion.

Appreciate that Ben and the others on the comments

But I'm only doing what others have done already, few ideas I've done myself but trying to keep it mini all round has been done before, either way there's always something else that needs doing to make it 100% sleeper but I won't bother with that, am happy with it now

That is very impressive how well this is done! I have just shown one of my mates who's also a petrol head the pictures above and he was wondering why I was looking at a standard "boring" mini, then he saw the engine and the penny dropped.

Love it !

Lovely. all it needs now is a standard pee-shooter exhaust with the proper tail pipe hidden like they used to do with diesel cars, actually the reverse of what is in fashion at the moment.

First up RIP Sam  :(

Cheers guys, wedding went top notch  :-)

Me and the best man was running late (as usual!) and it didn't help with the sunday christian motorists holding me up on the motorway! I mean c'mon guys the car has wedding ribbons on it and I'm in a rush to get somewhere - get out the way and stop gawking!

Probably cheesed off a few of them but I didn't care, they needed vtec-ing...  ;-)

Finally arrived and was getting changed but obviously found time to grab a pic of my saviour of the day!

Ok truth be told :P the reason we was running late (hopefully she will never find out!) I had the ribbons on the car the night before but on the morning I thought "how do I pop the bonnet so people can see?"

I know its her day but c'mon some mini selfishness was needed

Spent another half hour ass-ing around with the back up ribbons (back up incase the combination of wind and motorway said otherwise!) that we managed to feed each end around the sun blinds and tie them up, so just lightly tied up one end so "if" :whistling:  we wanted to we just untied that end and slackened the ribbon :mrcool:

Either way I wasn't expecting what she done for me though, wedding cake was my car! :mrcool:  the guy making it had done a good job, colour, hub caps, bumpers, seam strips the lot, was very humbled to be honest  :shy:

When it come to cutting it together for the first time I whispered to her "cut the front end as its got a removable front end" her reply which was just a look told me that probably was not the smartest of things to say at that point

I've only got grainy pics of it as I was busy...but will add a pic when I get them, one of my mates saved me a nice piece though, appreciated that big time  :mrcool:

IMG_3570.jpg

Was dee-lish  :mrcool:

Catching a flight in a couple of hours for a well deserved break and the mini could do with one as well, it done me proud and still never ceases to amazes me when I need it the most, it passed its ultimate test though and it wasn't even meant to be there, long live the mini  :mrcool:

Over and out
