Very good build mate very impressive !!!!

Thanks for the kinds words, much appreciated

FWWAAHHHHH! Nice, Very nice.

Cheers mate

love this build, always keeping an eye on the updates. i bet people get a shock when a "standard" mini goes flying past them

I honestly don't know what people must think as I know I'm laughing my head off when I do it  but they must be thinking what you think plus its even more hilarious when you do it and vtec kicks in as its quite vocal

I will admit though its quite funny when they pull up alongside in traffic and start laughing when they look at the wheels then give the thumbs up - my work is done...

Hopefully your new wheels are going to be banded steels to 6" and some sticky tyres.

Not properly noooooooo, its rattle can jobbie till I can get a complete respray

After all the cutting/welding on the front end/bonnet the bare metal sections would only end up getting surface rust so threw some primer then any green down just to keep it going and usable. Respray won't be happening for a while so I'm just running it like this

It don't look good mate in the slightest but I'm not bothered, if it makes it look tatty and slower then I'm all for that

Haha you should just keep it that way then. Get a rusty looking roof rack on there and you're sorted

Been out last couple of days testing the car and the new brakes, all is very well, few little things to sort out but other than that

Did a short vid, poor camera mount and very shaky car...

Also picked up some new wheels/tyres

It soon gets up to speed Kam, I LOVE IT!!

How far up the revs are you going? Also there was a couple of drivers at a roundabout in that video i would've had words with!!

I like the wheels, most modified cars you see have wheels that cost MORE than the car is worth......but this isn't that.......at all!!

I have some 155 versions of those Falken's. truely rubbish tyres, you'll be squealing even at modest speeds if they're anything like mine.

edit. and I only had 50 ish hp.

Sorry mate I should've explained, these 145's are NOT gonna be my main use tyres, they are just for when I'm pootling about town, and yeah I'm not expecting anything atall from them. I can spin the yoko's easily so these don't stand a hope in hell!

The main reason I got them was for looks, the sidewalls with the 165's are pretty much square and these 145's will give it the 'rounder' sidewall look which I had on the car when I first bought it, it will also look more the part with the hub caps if that makes sense :whistling:

Yeah that roundabout does attract them

I think the most I've been upto is about 6.5-7k, but as the standard mini rev counter starts its redline at 6k and the numbers finish at 8k it just feels unnatural watching it bend round that far? oh and I'm being a tart aswell >_<

As for the wheels yeah, steel wheels £10, new hub cap £20, new falken tyre £35, £65 a corner, not bad really

Yes totally understand about the look you're after. I was also after a skinny tyre look on the MIdas, the same as it looked 25 years ago, back then the tyres I had Goodyear Grand prix S were actually quite good, I had hoped those Falkens would have been better, fingers crossed they'll work better in that size and on your car.

I run some skinny 155 snow tyres on my daily and it is surprisingly grippy. A shame the top brand tyre companies no longer make tyres in the size you require.

I had some 145 pirelli's when I first bought it, from what I understand they don't make them no more - thats a massive shame as I reckon they would put these 145 falkens to shame :(

Pirelli p3000 I think
