Masked it up and then found I got no paint here anyway

Oh well, I thought I'd try something that was here, putting the inlet and fuel rail together
After doing some reading online it seems some people were saying that if your using smaller injectors like my RC ones you can't use the original spacers as the fuel rail will sit too high, by smaller I don't mean overall size just the mounting point for the rubber inserts in the inlet

I bought these injectors secondhand and luckily got a set of rubber inserts with them, original on left RC ones on right

I found not using the original solid spacers and mounting the fuel rail straight on wasn't gonna work as theres no thread for the nut?

Using the original spacer works fine and leaves enough thread after the fuel rail is on

You can see if you don't use the right rubber insert the injector sits too high

Even if you use all the high rubber inserts the fuel rail won't clamp down enough as its not sitting tight against the solid spacers behind
With the correct rubber inserts and using the original spacers it all fits fine

So if you get aftermarket secondhand injectors make sure you got the inserts that come with them
Mounted up my adjustable fuel pressure regulator and fuel pressure gauge

All done

Also been contemplating getting a small discreet Honda badge and graphic put somewhere on the car, thing is I don't want to give the game away, whaddya think?

Put the gearbox casing back together, I know I only painted it black a couple of months ago but decided to paint it again - as you do!

Then threw some on the block

Its funny how its come up looking like a nice job with the aid of a camera

Then the problem, I can't put it back in the car as I haven't got my flywheel here! He forgot to put it in with the all the stuff, it was given to him to reface as it had about 2000 miles on it, it must be still at the machine shop, I still need to pick up the head so back to waiting now

The aero hose for the VTEC supply was bothering me whilst I was painting around there.......I need to fit a 3 way union so I can fit all my oil pressure/temp gubbins plus that oil pressure switch that is already in there, I started wondering about the water pipe that runs around the back as it has two pipes coming off it, one goes to the factory oil cooler on VTECs and the other goes to the Idle Air Control Valve

The B20 doesn't have this oil cooler on the back hence the oil filter sitting smack bang up against the block, heres an old pic of my B16 with the cooler, filter then goes on top

You can see it goes from the back water pipe into the top of the cooler then out again and into the block to the water jacket around the bores, I doubt it does much anyway I mean its only a small thing, but I suppose its better than a kick in the nutsack

I'm not trying to teach people here how to suck eggs, just explaining for the ones that don't know as they were probably expecting a normal row cooler
I need to do away with those two pipes sticking of the back water pipe as they get in the way of my 3 way I need

I don't need the oil cooler outlet pipe (see above) or the IACV one either as I'm using a DTA which ditches the IACV, so as my good friend Mr Patridge would say - back of the net!

So I now gotta do something about this pipe and chop off both outlets

I think its ally and I only got a MIG here, maybe a couple of small plates and some pure argon might work, but I think I'll pop it down to a local place and get them to do something, then wait for them to sort that, not a fan of waiting for people now......

When am I coming down for a weekend with the spanners?
My hut is quite small and your quite tall so I don't think you'll fit

I'm currently only watching paint dry, no spannerage going ons at the moment, if all goes well I should pick up the head and flywheel next week and can finally crack on, hate stopping n starting.......
If I get stuck I will put out a cry for help on here though, I might have done the 1.6 all by myself but that doesn't mean I won't ask for help if needed
