Well it looks like you get what you wish for, I wished for a pair of socks for crimbo and I got them earlier

Posted Image

Pipercross 60 (ID) made for there own throttle bodies, I think the honda inlet is 67mm or something (OD) so never an issue of slipping it on, bought from here but you can get them anywhere

They are only sold in pairs though so one will have to unfortunately go on the car and the other I'll hang off the end of my bed for xmas :)

I said there wasn't any room straight off the inlet before and I wasn't lying, how I managed to get a cut-down 90 degree hose in there with the hose from the res in the way I will never know!

Posted Image

No problemo with socks though

Posted Image

Posted Image

Used some of the ducting from the previous air filter and some new ducts to get some new air in there

Posted Image

Passed under the brake servo as before

Posted Image

And cable tied it to the side of the allspeed frame

Posted Image

Plenty of room with the wheel on full lock......

Posted Image

and if the wheel raises.....

Posted Image

Sliced off an angle for the duct......

Posted Image

then inside it went the above ducting as that wasn't long enough and sits nice ready and waiting for some of the coolest air available round here

Posted Image

Posted Image

Took it for a spin and can't say hand on heart it made any noticeable difference out on the road whilst on the move, apart from a throatier induction sound (especially low down in revs while bogged down) its all as before.......nice and insane

Done a couple of vids, don't expect too much apart from the usual blur - apologies, still sorting out a proper mount

Weather is still looking a bit so-so incase I do head to the 'ring at the weekend, so will decide later on in the week, no biggie though if I don't

And cheers to Chris (burnard) for the idea of using the sock  simple things we forget during a build eh? :dontgetit:

socks just work in tight spaces, they had to be good for something.

Stupid thing is we now both have a spare sock :)

Two socks make a pair, sorry, couldn't resist :)

Mine is still gonna hang off the end of the bed at crimbo, it'll probably be the smartest mofo sock that fat boy has ever seen!

Thanks for the passenger ride this afternoon Kam - as I said earlier the thing really flies - it's a bit of a shame the roads weren't drier but it was really great to get my first taste of what a Hybrid Mini is like!

No worries mate, was good to meet you :( yeah would of been nice if the roads were a bit dryer but hopefully it showed its not undriveable as some people think, even with wet roads

We'll I'm not going over to germini tomorrow now, weather looks ok for sunday but don't want to take the gamble, I still need a tyre squealing fix though so seeing as I'm off work for a few days we'll see what happens for that....... >_<

Massive progress today, I finally made a bracket to hold the top of the radiator using one of the top bolts of the vtec assembly and stop any wobbles on the move, you could hear it knocking even alongside other rattles/squeaks/bangs/knocks etc etc :dontgetit:

Posted Image

And thats it :) Hopefully that will keep Chris (Burnard) happy for now........ :)

Hopefully I'll have some better updates tomorrow, I should hopefully be getting a new set of wheels! :) will let you know how that pans out......

As for my tyre squealing fix I'm gonna hopefully do a trackday on monday, will see if I can't book it tomorrow last min.....

Got me new wheels for the car today! :D Absolutely stunning and awesome...ish :-

Posted Image

Another set of rovers finest steelies! :)

And some new rubber

Posted Image

Posted Image

I have always wanted some A048's, there aint a better looking tread than these

Posted Image

Has anyone ever fitted A048's on 12" steelies? I think the mighty minis use them on minilites, not sure really but could be a world first??? :o

I've also got my old original hub caps here, so now I got a set for the track and a set for show <<< Another first?? Track hub caps???

Will get them fitted tomorrow as I've now booked up a trackday for monday at Bedford autodrome, never been there so should be fun, hopefully the weather will hold out, so we'll see how this goes with these A048's but Im taking the A539's aswell

Trying to sort out a mount for the camera without ripping up the top of the dash and leaving holes etc would rather not do that, I've haven't got a proper mount so will try and conjure up something stable tomorrow, no suckers allowed so has to be mounted

Hopefully I can get some decent footage to show how this fares on a track with others......

I've seen people mount them to the passenger headrest, or on the parcel shelf.

Will be good too see it being given some abuse.

I got my origional hub caps still mate, not in great condition, but could easily be painted and good for track use :o

And ive just had a thought, why not turn the clutch master cylender 180 degrees so the pipes some out away from the air intake? :)

Because it will probably foul the servo?

HARBER07 is right, did look at this at the time, the aperture part that sticks out on the master where the hoses attach is what hits the brake servo

And I want to keep the servo :D

Cheers Ben, I need to have more than one as a back up just incase the marshall says "thats not steady enough" will look into the parcel shelf idea....
