This bit actually got me a bit excited!Been rushing out to a motor factors before they shut and ended up going to 3! Got one and rushed back, stuck it in the relay holder, took mini out and after about 15mins driving I found a nice empty private airfield......and nailed it.....

Says it all, right?
Glad your bodywork man came through for you Kam, would have sucked if you couldn't take it to the ring.
Good luck getting everything finished ready for the trip

I've been working on the car all night, am absolutely knackered and excited at the same time (possible??) I still got to load it up as I'm leaving in an hour and still got a couple of niggly little things yet to do

Got all the brightwork on and its the first time I've seen it like this, gave it polish aswell (obviously)

Really pleased with it, put some graphics on it aswell and also got the roof box on, just gotta fill it and the car now!
Can't stop to chat, got things to do, see you in a week

Over and out

Can't say driving to Germany is the most ideal place for a test drive! Was a bit nervous not just of getting there but going on track as I hadn't even of taken it on a track out here

Unfortunately I wasn't able to meet the rest of the runners at brands as I was still working on the car

Caught up with the others about five miles from dover, I wont post up all the pics as they will be on the bh2n section but here's the car completed externally, there aint nothing left to do on the outside now

Chilling out round the Karussell with a couple of passengers

Short vid of the car farting against lemmingzappa and minili's tent, don't worry they wasn't inside!

I was told by my convoy that it popped a flame on overrun??? Cue night vid

Only problems I had was speedo stopped working on my first lap and started having some issues with the idling revs two days before we was due to leave and the silly positive battery clamp would pop off when it felt like it, it did right outside the exit with cars either side of me and behind me and a marshall waving like mad at me to move the car as he thought I was parking up and getting something from my boot!

I knew the speedo would snap if I left it connected and did over 110mph as thats all my standard mini dials go upto but I was hovering near to this limit on track anyway..........then the speedo just dropped whilst going round so I knew it had snapped, I carried on as I could now just gun it
Upon checking afterwards in the car park I found it had merely just popped off the top of the gearbox, its got no collar or support section holding it in place, its just held there, I didn't bother popping it back in
The idling revs stumped me as nothing had been touched on the car but obviously hooning it round a track like that is gonna push your car anyway, me and Matt checked it over but there was nothing obvious. I decided not to take it on track last couple of days as the main thing is I can get the car home

Just before boarding the ferry on the way back me and Prawn were chatting away and we both agreed that as soon as we get home we was gonna lock the cars up for a couple of weeks and stay away from them

as soon as I got in I drained the coolant and whipped off the inlet manifold to investigate!

Not sure if I posted it before but as I'm using a DTA ecu and it doesn't use the Idle Air Control Valve at the back off the inlet you can blank it off but you can check to see if its still leaking in air, mine was blanked off and rolling roaded like this but I did the little check anyway when I got back, this vid is from a while back but its just to show what someone told me to try, if the revs are high and you block the hole inside the throttle body and it drops then it needs to be blanked off the other side

Just got to fill it up now and try again, will report back later, in the meantime I just remembered the one and only thing I hate about clubmans......the bumps on your head from whacking it into the bonnet catch!

I'm gonna carry this in the car now

The car looked awesome and went really well on the ring. I was very pleased with the speed it went round with 3 people in the car. Glad you got home OK, it took my ages got home about 8:30. I think we're all the same not being able to stop working on it. I already want to get the engine out and do all sorts of crazy things ha.
Hope you get your issue sorted I'll be keeping an eye on this.

Honestly? Errrmmmm Interesting would be a good word to use!

Me bakker110 and Ian was doing a lap and I was in 2nd going round the karussell and planted it on the exit, it just spun up all the way to the redline, chucked it in 3rd and it spun up again, was pretty awesome though!

Car looks good.

Hello mate, I'm sure I remember you saying mini mad69? Its a shame you was heading back home so soon

Anyway, popped it off, cleaned up the surface area and applied a generous amount of sealant and whacked it back on (the sealant was applied last night) this morning put everything back together and it started up first time and revs went straight to just under 1000rpm - sorted!
Took it out for a spin and its runs just as before, popping, spitting, banging and making a helluva noise off hard throttle, when this high idle problem was going on it never popped and banged like before but now it does again and I love it! People out on the road can't make heads or tails of it!

Am liking this car more each day, next job - castle combe

Top marks on getting the car there (and back), I really admire your determination and passion for the Mini.
