another little trick you can do is,
have a cut off switch hidden away somewhere, that will actually cut the ignition or Battery or what ever, then
make another switch with CAR START, or POWER CUT OFF written under it, and rig that switch to the horn preferable musical ones or air horns, the theif will clearly keep pressing the fake button and not even bother to look for the other switch.
the mini also has a very good anti-theft tool already...
A Choke.
you would be surprised.

Hi guys, it’s a really good idea if you avoid using perspex or film on your door windows. It’s fine on competition cars as you will normally be wearing a crash helmet to protect your head. These windows are designed to shatter if your head hits it. Imagine the mess you will make when your head hits the window during a side impact. I think I would prefer some low life breaks my window :)

also even if you do use the film your window is still knakerd and they would probly break more things just to get in..................

not much point wasting money on stoping them geting in its more stoping them geting away you want to be thinking about

alarm it. clamp it. disk-lock or removable wheel it. cut off switch it. remove rotor arm. fuel cut off switch it. gps track it. make it unappealing.

bottom line is if someone really wants to take your car, they are going to take your car.

I think the ideal object is to stop people breaking into it in the first place, so something very visible that puts them off could be:

Alarm indicator (flashing LED, regardless of if you have an alarm or not!)
Have one of those tracker things - but you'd have to advertise you have one on the car somewhere (assuming the thief can read and understand ... maybe not wise!)
wheel clamp
visible steering lock (not sure they would notice if it had a removeable wheel if it was dark?)
park in a highly lit, busy place
park in a garage if poss
make a large life like cutout of a Citroen Saxo and put it over the car.
remove one or more of the wheels to make it look like it's already been done over?
have a rat-look car!
stick one of those POLICE AWARE stickers on it!

Whilst I'm impressed by the security film for the window, I'm not sure I'd want to be in an incident where medical/rescue services were trying to smash their way in to rescue me/pull me out... :-
