Can't you get a garage place?

The weakest point will always be the windows - no matter how strong locks you fit.

Alarm... Well... Do YOU jump if you hear one!? I don't.
And most people seem to be totaly unimpressed too.

If I have to leave the Mini somewhere 'uncomfortable' for a while;
I just take the ignition coil with me :dontgetit: (a bit of a hazzle for daily use, though).

What about these, has anyone got one or use one? They might be a good idea to stop people trying to nick it, won't stop them breaking in though.

You're gonna struggle to stop break ins, but you can make it hard for it to be physically stolen.

Leave a Pit-bull in the car.
There is a film that can be put on the inside of the windows that stops it being smashed in. But if you need to smash your way out it gives like a normal car window. Can't name it but I'm sure a quick Google will bring it up. Also it's not cheap from what I remember.

Few ideas. You can get a film that goes over your window that helps it from being smashed. Iv seen it on here before. You can also fit an alarm a removable steering wheel and double lock. My mate has double locks fitted to his mini van and that knocked his insurance down by £100 alone.

Said that because mine has a ignition cut off

Sell her first!

Ok, that's not an option :dontgetit:

The boot is the most secure bit but that Discarnect thingy might not protect against it being bump started - a fuel tap might be better and will also protect against the fuel line being cut to knick your juice.

Independent deadlocks would be good since Mini lock aren't, but there's always the danger they'll just do more damage.

An alarm is defo a goody to create some panic and persuade them to leg it instead.

I take the rotor arm with me, less hassle than a coil.

Hi. Found this on youtube.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.c...></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.c...hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Thats the film stuff you can get.

With the double lock I'm not sure where you get them from as it was on the van when he bought it.

This is the worst pic but you can just about make out the extra lock just down from the handle on the right.

That small little spot is the extra lock. When I next see it I'll try and take some pics for you.

EDIT: Spelling.

Ive seen these before, and seems a really good idea to me, especially with battery in locked boot.

They're great, simple but effective, and you can get alternative ones from places other than Minispares (but Minispares are great!) ... like fleabay.
