Ok, could anyone tell me how to get the rear valance off? Do I just take off the paint and drill through the spot welds(If thats how its held on)?
Also, how should I treat the new valance for rust? Its just got like a black coating on now, and its scratched off in a few places. Would just ordinary zinc primer be ok, or should I treat it with somthing more involved?
Last question, Will I be ok to rivett the new valance on? I figure it would be easier to get it off if I ever need to with rivetts., but dont know if this is legal/safe whatever.
thanks a lot,

Just grind off the spot welds.
It should be welded on, I think you can pop rivit it on, but check with your local MOT man.
Siggy

which panel you talking about? got any pics? but it will be welded in place...just drill out the welds like you said. Is it this panel? cause thats the panel I'm waiting to get delivered to me. Myself I would weld it in place the same method as it is there right now...more professional i think.

The valance is the part underneath that al. These two sandwich the boot floor.
Valance = part that has a small cutout for exhaust pipe, where fog light mounts to etc.

just to clarrify for MOT, its to close to a structual point so it needs to be welded, plus it looks better when painted if it is spot welded into place.

Do I have to remove all that black stuff before I prime/paint it?
If so, whats the best way to do that, chemically or by sanding it?
thanks a lot,
