when I am coasting (or not accelerating) there is a funny noise coming from the front of my car - sounds like its from the wheels or the suspension...
any ideas?
Cheers

p.s. SPAX ADJUSTABLES , HI LO,S 4 POT CALIPERS , VENTED DISCS , GOODRICH BRAKE HOSES are fitted to the brakes and suspension...

Does that noise change if you press the clutch?
i have the same noise at the same time on an auto.
its when i'm near traffic lights or am under say 30mph.
i think it's a bearing on mine.

No - only if I have my foot on accelerator - doesn't even stop if I change down a gear..

Would a bearing make a noise at faster speeds too? it doesn't matter what speed I am going it still makes the noise...
...if anything its quieter at higher speeds too...

Easy solution. Don't stop accelerating. Ever. lol.
A body in motion stays in motion etc etc.

have a look at your engine mounts ,mine went and the drive shaft was eating the subframe horrible screeching sound which went when i accelerated,it's worth a look.
if you jack the car up by the subframe under the drive shaft can this eventualy lead to this problem?
i've had my car on jacks alot recently due to brake problems.
my car in stop start traffic is really bad now but on a straight open road its almost silent.

i cannot say without looking but if the subframe is in bad shape from lot's of jacking then it would effect the lower arm first i would presume?,the cause would be pretty obvious best thing you can do is have a good look, jack up and take the wheels off, obvious signs would be shiny bare metal on the driveshaft/subframe.other than that pop the bonnet and inspect your engine mounts for perishing, give the engine a wobble and see which ones move.
my engine had dropped within the subframe due to a knackered engine mount and consiquently the driveshaft began to catch on the subframe.
