Hi all,
Can you guys help me answer the following?
My Mrs has just bought an 05 Cooper which has been fitted with aftermarket exhaust which runs down the centre of the car with a single silencer box. The car also has the Cooper S centre exit bumper fitted so the exhaust comes straight out the middle of the bumper nice and neat.
Obviously being a girl she doesn't want the loud exhaust so I want to put it back to standard but can't put a cooper one on as the bumper exit is in the centre and not to the right - is there any reason why I can't put a Cooper S exhaust on there which will line up right in the bumper?
I've briefly looked underneath and it looks like the S exhaust will fit fine but I didn't look at the exhaust hangers - does anyone know if this is possible?
We don't have the car currently so I can't look at it again till we pick it up.
I don't want to have to change the bumper too so if the standard S exhaust would go on that would be perfect.
Any comments would be appreciated.

it should be possible but as you can see not many of us have these bmws of which you speak! Best thing to do is to have some spare brackets (rubbers) and get some exhaust clamps just in case. As there are a few of those running on scrap yards and in bits of ebay you should be able to get some spares if needs be. On a latter note you could always consider the bible (haynes manual) which would have all the various models and where the brackets can be attached. It may have been that if it did have a standard exhaust on there at some point then the brackets may have simply been removed for being un-necessary.
